Unfortunately the west Coast has lost another music legend. According to a report from the Long Beach Press Nate Dog has passed away today at 41. The exact cause of death has not been determined, but he had been battling health complications as the result of two strokes suffered, one in 2007 and another in 2008. Born Nathaniel D. Hale, known in the rap game as Nate Dogg, he was one of the original members of 2.1.3 along with Snoop Dogg and Warren G.. As part of 2.1.3 Nate Dog went on to be one of the originators of the G-Funk style of music, know for his melodic chorus stylings. He collaborated on hit songs with many top recording artists including Warren G, Snoop Dogg, The Dogg Pound, 50 Cent, Eminem, The Game, Xzibit, 2-Pac, Dr Dre, and manny, manny more. Nate Dog AKA Nathaniel D. Hale will go down in hip hop history and be remembered as the “Hook Master.” He collaborated and provided the Chorus hook for some of the music industrys biggest hits.
